News From the Ice Cream Parlor

Well it’s been one year ago since that dreadful ice storm of 2009. That major catastrophe will be an event that no one will forget! I do believe that everyone learned some kind of lesson during those trying times and probably even learned more about someone you may not have known very well. One of the good things that I saw happen was that people opened their hearts and their doors without question to help someone else. Every so often we should take time out of our busy schedules to count our blessings and appreciate even the small things we take for granted.
We all should pay more attention to our lives, taking pleasure from even the smallest things that are not so obvious at first. Some of these may be as small as making someone smile, a sunset, a visit from a friend, or even a compliment. Our lives sometimes get so overwhelmed with everyday living and sometimes making sacrifices to get by, we forget to appreciate the happy things we are so fortunate to have. I hope your new year will be a safe, happy, and healthy one.
It’s that time again to select your Valentine King and Queen for 2010 . Don’t forget to cast your vote for who you want. Our ballot box is located in the sun room. You may put one vote in per day. Everyone can vote, this includes staff, residents, guests, and families, but please only vote for the residents.
Ballots will be counted on February 10th. Our King and Queen of 2010 will be announced at our Valentine’s party, Friday February 12th at 3:00 p.m.

Until next month,

Sherry
